Welcome to Loon Lake Labradors Breeding Excellence

Whelping Mamas

All of our mamas are in excellent health. They visit the vet regularly and are up to date on all their vaccinations. They are also health tested and screened for any genetic diseases. They are fed a very well balanced diet and get plenty of exercise. They sleep with us or on the couch. Our dogs are not kennel dogs. They are inside and part of the family. They’re spoiled- just like our kids! Ha!  They give birth in the house and theur puppies are raised inside with us.

Our Puppies

Our puppies are raised from day 1 with you in mind. Everything we do for and with our puppies is done to ensure you have the very best puppy that matures into the healthiest, happiest, trainable forever friend your family is longing for.

The US Military originally developed ENS as part of their "bio-sensor" later known as the “Super Dog” program to improve the performance of military working dogs. The program was designed to improve the dogs' cardiovascular performance, stress tolerance, and disease resistance.

  • The program included tactile and thermal stimulation, as well as exposure to mild stressors and is best done between days 3 and 16.

The rule of 7’s

We take pride in the amount of preparation and exposure your puppy gets while in our care. The rule of 7’s means that by the time your puppy is 7 weeks old it will have been exposed to 7 different locations, 7 different people, 7 different toys, 7 different surfaces, eaten from 7 different dishes in 7 different places and will have had 7 different challenges. These situations help your puppy to be more confident and well rounded and help with socialization skills.

Puppy Adoption Process

Adopting a puppy from Loon Lake Labradors is a thoughtful process that ensures both you and the puppy are well-matched. Our adoption process includes an application, a phone chat and getting to know you and what you’re looking for in a companion dog. We want to ensure that our puppies go to loving homes where they will thrive.

Once we have gotten to know each other and I’ve approved your application you will place a $200 reservation fee. That fee is non refundable. If you decide to wait on another litter I will hold that fee and apply it  towards another puppy for one year. If you do not choose a puppy by then you will have to place another reservation fee. Your reservation fee holds your picking order. So if you place the 3rd fee you will get 3rd pick. We will start picks at 6 weeks old. I post lots of pictures and videos on our social media pages and once in a while I’ll send pics of your chosen puppy after the six week picks are done.  Rest assured your puppy is in good hands and getting the best care until they come home to you!

Puppy pick up/ Transportation

When you come to get your puppy please understand we like to meet at local public places. We do this to ensure the health and safety of our family and of the rest of our dogs and puppies. We live in Lake City and the surrounding area would include Cadillac, Fife Lake, Houghton Lake, Manton, and McBain. I will deliver to any of those city centers for free. I will deliver to the airports in Teaverse City (TVC) Grand Rapids (GRR) or Detroit Metro (DTW) for a flat  round trip Fee. So if you fly into Traverse City it would be an additional $150, Grand Rapids and additional $300  and for Detroit $500.
